Creation

This is a study of creation as recorded in Scripture. Many are the explanations and theories put forward by teachers and students of the Word of the Creator which give rise to difficulty in understanding the sequence of events. Of course none of us knows the full story, but believers must be careful not to create a stumbling block to the sincere seeker after truth.

The notes throughout this study are meant to be read

and considered after each scripture is read from your bible.

Bereshith (Genesis) 1: 1, 2 In the beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth, and the earth came to be formless and empty, and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Elohim was moving on the face of the waters.

the first “tittle” in the scriptures is on “in the beginning” giving emphasis to these words

Note: The “jots and tittles” are marks used by Moses, the writer of the first five books of the scriptures known as Torah to emphasise a particular point being made by Elohim, so the tittles at the beginning and the end of the creation account are there for a purpose to mark the beginning, Bereshith 1: 1 and the end, Bereshith 2: 4. Yahusha said that “till the heaven and earth pass away not one jot or tittle shall pass from the Torah till all be done”. (Matt 5: 17,18)

The Hebrew scriptures use the Hebrew word “yom” which covers unspecified periods ranging from “day” to “eon”.

The translating of “yom” as “day” meaning a 24 hour period has resulted in a great deal of error in the interpretation of the creation account.

To fit in with this 24 hour theory, many spin-offs have occurred which go on forever and cause great delusion and error. The creation account covers six periods of time, and each period is followed by Yahuah the Creator stating “And there came to be evening and there came to be morning on the first yom (second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth)”. This shows that even though each period of creation covered eons of time (yom) the evening and morning sequence was ever in operation from the first to the sixth period of creation.

Any explanation of creation which makes the Creator appear to be changeable, inconsistent and irrational has to bring about ridicule of the Almighty in those who are looking for a way out of obeying Him. It is sometimes understood by those believing in the six literal 24 hour days, or even six 1,000 year eras of creation that all who oppose this idea are believers in evolution. Nothing could be further from the truth!

Adaptation of species which occurs often due to circumstances such as climate, vegetation, temperature and isolation is a natural occurrence over time and is very different from the theory of evolution which claims that changes take place spontaneously or through mutation and produce new genuses and species

Any species which adapts naturally to change is fertile and able to reproduce itself whereas different genuses do not reproduce with each other.

There are innumerable witnesses in the earth itself to creation taking place over a long period of time, for example, fossils of many kinds of now extinct creatures. Where there are deep canyons such as the Grand Canyon, sedimentary layers are exposed which have been laid down over billions of years with fossils set in the ancient layers while under the surface of the oceans. The oilfields developed over billions of years from the lush vegetation that was spoken of in Bereshith (Genesis) 1:11&12 on the second Yom (eon) of creation. Also there are fossils of ancient types of trees and plants, particularly ferns, cycads and even the Wollami pine an Australian living fossil.

Geologically, the drift of the continents is well documented with such features as the Himalayas, the Andes, the Rockies and the Alps all resulting from the push of one earth plate against another with immense force to create these massive mountain ranges. These land masses move at the rate of up to 6.5cm per year, often creating a line of huge earthquakes or volcanoes. These witnesses cannot be ignored or explained away.

We have to remember that for Yahuah Elohim

time as we know it does not exist

He is the great I AM and knows the end from the beginning

Yom 1  Verses3 - 5  The light was before the sun, moon and stars. Light was divided from the darkness, different from day and night. It apparently came from the Spirit of Elohim as this was prior to the creation of the heavenly lights.

In Revelation 22: 5 it says “And night shall be no more and they shall have no need of a lamp or the light of the sun, because Yahuah Elohim shall give them light. And they shall reign for ever and ever”. This will be a similar occurrence to that at the beginning of the creation account.

Yom 2  Verses 6 - 10 All the land was one expanse separated from the waters. Verse 9 the dry land appeared. This was what is now known as Gondwanaland prior to the separation of the continents millions of years ago.

Yom 3  Verses 11 - 13 Grass, plants yielding seed, trees bearing fruit according to their kind were created. Abundance of rain and moisture occurred at this stage.

Yom 4  Verses 14 - 19 Elohim created the sun, moon and stars for signs, for seasons, for days and for years, the establishment of the moedim (seasons). These moedim become very important later, as they become the basis for the Feasts of Yahuah from the time of Moses and thereafter.

Yom 5  Verses 20 - 23 Elohim created sea creatures and flying creatures. He told them to be fruitful and multiply.

Yom 6  Verse 25 And Elohim made the beast of the earth according to its kind, livestock according to its kind, and all that creeps on the earth according to its kind, and Elohim saw that it was good.

26 And Elohim said, ‘Let Us make mankind in Our image, according to Our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over the livestock, and over all the earth and over all the creeping creatures that creep on the earth’.

27 And Elohim created mankind in His image, in the image of Elohim He created, male and female He created them. “Them” has to be more than one person!

Elohim created the land animals and then created mankind in His image, male and female, gave them dominion over all other creatures. Everything man or animals needed for sustenance was growing and provided for them to reproduce after their kind. These people were natural beings, not spiritual, and did not know Elohim. They are the indigenous peoples of all the world, Europe, Africa, Asia, North and South America, Australia and New Zealand. They were hunter/gatherers surrounded by lush vegetation and food-bearing trees. To this day the descendants of these people are still hunter/gatherers in many parts of the world holding nature in high regard and only taking from the earth what they need for survival. They have preserved and valued the order of nature and have not ever destroyed their own environment. (See our Article “Who are the Gentiles”)

The creation of mankind on Yom 6 happened prior to Elohim resting on Yom 7. They are the true gentiles of the world and are not directly related to the Set-apart people (later to be called Hebrews and even later still Yisrael) who were to be an example to mankind of those actually knowing Elohim and having a personal relationship with Him. Yahuah chose Adam as the beginning of His set-apart people who were to know Him and whom He would teach to walk in His ways (Bereshith 2:7).

These gentiles created on Yom 6 are the indigenous people of all lands including Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa, Australia and New Zealand. (Bereshith 1: 26, 27).

Two of Noah’s sons, Ham and Yepheth were gentiles of a different category, not having descended from the righteous line of Shem and Sheth.

Sha’ul addressed gentiles at Mars Hill who were descendants of Yepheth. He came upon them worshipping their pagan gods.

The epistles of Peter, John, James and Jude were all written to “the ten tribes scattered abroad” some specifically and some by inference.

These people later migrated from their place of captivity in Syria and Persia across Eastern and Northern Europe to NW Europe, Scandinavia and the British Isles. Some then migrated much later to such places as North America, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. These people today make up “the lost ten tribes” so they are not really lost, but many people regrettably do not realise the fact. The process of joining the tribe of Yahudah with the lost tribes later known collectively as Ephrayim, is now taking place and they will be restored to be one nation in Yahuah’s hand prior to the return of Yahusha the Messiah.

In Revelation 7: 4 - 10 it is clear that entry into eternal life is through the twelve tribes of Yisrael along with their grafted-in gentiles, following the Torah of Yahuah. There is no entry by any other way.
