In the English language scriptures that we use today no difference is made between the two forms of “another”, but when we look at the original translation, there is a great difference. Sha'ul (Paul) used the two forms of “another” many times in his epistles.

When “another of a different kind” is inferred then “heteros” is used, and when “another of the same kind” is inferred then “allos” is used. It is unfortunate that English does not have a different word for each of the different meanings and because of that a lot of confusion has occurred and wrong way meanings have been given to his epistles.

“Allos” Another of a similar kind

“Heteros” Another of a different kind

Romans 7: 22, 23 For I delight in the Torah of Elohim according to the inward man, but I see another law (another of a different  kind) in my members, battling against the Torah of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

Sha’ul (Paul) is referring to the law of sin and death which came with the fall of Adam and Eve which is simply this, death is the wages of sin. You sin, you die!

2 Corinthians 11: 3, 4 But I am afraid, lest as the serpent deceived Eve by his trickery, so your mind should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Messiah. For indeed, if he who is coming proclaims another Yahusha (another of a different kind) whom we have not proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different good news which you have not accepted, you put up with it well enough.

Paul is afraid that they will accept or tolerate these deceptions when he says “But I am afraid ...... you put up with it well enough”.

Galatians 1: 6 - 12 I marvel that you are so readily turning away from him who called you in the favour of Messiah, to a different ‘Good News’ (another of a different kind), which is not another (another of a similar kind) only there are some who are troubling you and wishing to pervert the Good News of Messiah. However, even if we or a messenger out of heaven, bring a ‘Good News’ to you beside what we announced to you (if he brings ‘another of a different kind’), let him be accursed. As we have said before, and now I say again, if anyone brings a ‘Good News’ (another of a different kind) beside what you have received let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or Elohim? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I should not be a servant of Messiah. And I make known to you brothers, that the Good News announced by me is not according to man. For I did not receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but through a revelation of Yahusha Messiah.

Mark 7: 6 - 9  And Yahusha said to them, “Well did Yeshayahu (Isaiah) prophesy concerning you hypocrites, as it has been written, ‘This people respect Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain do they worship Me, teaching as teachings the commands of men’. “Forsaking the command of Elohim, you hold fast the tradition of men.” And He said to them, “Well do you set aside the command of Elohim, in order to guard your tradition”.

Where the Word of Yahuah is concerned, He is the only One who can change His commandments, but He does not do this, as His Word stands forever. He gets it right the first time as He sees the end from the beginning. The only changes that are made to His Word are made by the traditions of self-righteous men, which they declare override the Word of the Almighty.

An example of His Word being changed by men is where He has stated that His Word is forever, and yet false teachers use the coming of His Son as an excuse to annul His Word and replace it with their own.

The Son of Elohim did not destroy the Torah of His Father, but explained it as having to be carried out by mankind in the Spirit, not by learning and reciting the commandments and then doing something different in one’s own life which is hypocrisy. For example, you were not only forbidden to kill another person, but you were not to hate him. Hatred leads to killing, not only of the body, but also of the reputation of another person, thereby ruining his life, virtually killing his standing in the community.

Other ways in which the false teachers have brought in “another of a different kind” of doctrine is in replacing the Ten Commandments given on Mount Sinai with their own traditions of men.

Shemoth (Exodus) 20: 2 - 17

First commandment “I am Yahuah your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim (Egypt), out of the house of slavery. You have no other mighty ones before My face”.

Second commandment “You do not bow down to them nor serve them. For I Yahuah your Elohim am a jealous El, visiting the crookedness of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing kindness to thousands, to those who love Me and guard My commands”.

The earth is groaning under the weight of “other mighty ones” with idols and false worship of many kinds. How many people know the succession of righteous men such as Abraham, Isaac and Jacob compared with the number who can recite readily the name of the god of war, the god of the sea, the goddess of easter, the god of just about everything. We were even taught the names of these mythical and powerless creatures in primary school as though they were of some importance and regrettably our days and months carry their names.

Third commandment “You do not bring the Name of Yahuah your Elohim to naught, for Yahuah does not leave the one unpunished who brings His Name to naught”.

Romans 10: 13 “Everyone who calls on the Name of Yahuah shall be saved”.

So we must know that His Name is Yahuah, and call on that Name in our prayers and supplications. His Name has been deliberately kept from us by many different organisations over the centuries. It was replaced with generic titles such as LORD, God, Jehovah, Adonai and Ha Shem to give a few examples. In these last days we have the privilege of being able to know His Name again and to use it in prayer freely. His Name is Yahuah. His Name is mentioned in the scriptures thousands of times, but has been altered to another name by many bible interpreters. Yahuah is His Name and His alone, unlike the generic false names which have been devised by man to replace the true Name of the Creator.

Fourth commandment “Remember the Sabbath day, to set it apart. Six days you labour, and shall do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of Yahuah your Elohim. You do not do any work, you nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days (Hebrew ‘yom’ - periods of time) Yahuah made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day (yom). Therefore Yahuah blessed the Sabbath Day and set it apart”.

This set-apart seventh day of rest for man and beast has been deliberately changed to the first day of the week, Sunday (c. 325 CE) in the time of the emperor Constantine, a worshipper of the sun god Sol Invictus Mithra, who mixed his paganism into the faith of the Nazarenes to make one religion over which he could exercise control. It was a witch’s brew where the ‘god’ Jupiter could be renamed ‘Peter’, and the mother of our Saviour Yahusha could be re-invented as the queen of heaven. Other later denominations as they arose over the centuries have ‘religiously’ kept to the Sunday replacing the Sabbath of Yahuah. Sunday is named in honour of Sol Invictus Mithra, the invincible sun god. Which one do you want to honour? Yahuah the Creator of all things, or the sun god?

Not only have they changed the Sabbath, which is the symbol of Yahuah’s covenant to Moshe, but they have also changed the Feasts of Yahuah - Passover, Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, Trumpets, the Day of Atonement and the Feast of Tabernacles. The replacement feasts are pagan festivals such as christmas, new year, easter, lent and halloween which are all an abomination to Yahuah and are “another of a different kind”.

Fifth commandment “Respect your father and your mother, so that your days are prolonged on the soil which Yahuah your Elohim is giving you”.

This commandment should need no explanation. Read Matthew 15: 5 - 9 to see what Yahusha thought of those who dedicated gifts to the temple, to be paraded in view of other men, while their elderly parents were deprived of bodily comfort and care. This is condemned in any society, in any age, as hypocrisy.

Sixth commandment “You do not murder”.

We saw what Yahusha said about this previously, where it also covers not hating another with intent to harm them.

Seventh commandment “You do not commit adultery”.

We see the effects today of the breaking of this commandment as families are separated and fathers in particular are kept from having anything to do with the raising of their children, and single mothers are struggling to bring up families on their own.

Eighth commandment “You do not steal”.

Our society is suffering the effects of theft from another, with white-collar crime, embezzlement, breaking and entering and all the other forms of stealing. We have to appropriate enormous sums of taxpayers money to police these crimes, plus the cost of security measures, and the enormous personal cost of fear in our community.

Ninth commandment “You do not bear false witness against your neighbour”.

False witness or lying against other people can destroy their lives. A slanderous word dropped here and there can take away a person’s standing in the community, their livelihood and their precious good name. A true witness is one who sees and hears the matter, not one who passes on hearsay evidence.

Tenth commandment “You do not covet your neighbour’s house, you do not covet your neighbour’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, or whatever belongs to your neighbour”.

This commandment covers a lot of ground! Coveting what belongs to another results in jealousies, lying, adulteries, buying goods outside of your means, insolvencies, wrecking your own and others lives with constant striving for more.

Malaki (Malachi) 3: 6, 7 “For I am Yahuah, I shall not change, and you, O sons of Ya’aqob (Jacob), shall not come to an end. From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from My laws and did not guard them. Turn back to Me, and I shall turn back to you”, said Yahuah of Hosts.

4: 4  “Remember the Torah of Moshe, My servant, which I commanded him in Horeb, for all Yisrael - laws and right-rulings”.

Ibrim (Hebrews) 13: 8 Yahusha Messiah is the same yesterday, and today and forever.

Many people are diligent about keeping the last six commandments of Yahuah which deal with man’s treatment of others. However, the first four which deal with our relationship with Yahuah Himself have been changed to “another of a different kind”. Our closeness to Him, using His personal Name, keeping His Sabbath day as a day of rest, not bowing to or honouring idols in any form, has been replaced with the traditions of men that Yahusha the Messiah warned against many times.

Let us make sure that we are not being bound by another doctrine of a different kind, but worshipping Him in Spirit and truth according to the truth of His Word, the same kind as He has outlined in the scriptures.

The phrase “works of law” only used in the book of Galatians by Sha’ul (Paul) is not referring to the Torah but is pointing out that mankind is always eager to replace the Word of Yahuah with their own laws and commandments - an example of another doctrine of a different kind. In the case of the Galatians some of them were reverting to pagnism.
