These are the words of Yahusha our Messiah -
Matt 7: 15 -
Lawlessness: In the King James Version of the bible the Greek word “anomia(s)” is translated “iniquities” nine times, “sin” twice and “unrighteousness” once.
Also once in Tehillim (Psalms) 32: 2 it is translated from the Hebrew as “iniquities”.
Lawlessness is the transgression of the Torah, the five books of Moshe (Moses) called the Law in some versions of the bible. This mistranslation of the word “anomia” is responsible for much of the syncretism that is prevalent in the christian churches over the centuries and to this very day. Syncretism is the blending of pagan gods, customs and worship which took place in the time of Constantine when he mixed the pagan sun god worship into the true worship of Yahuah our Elohim.
When “anomia” is correctly rendered “lawless” or “lawlessness” we become awake out of our deep sleep, our intoxicated state, having been wrongly taught that the “law” has been abolished.
In Mattityahu (Matthew) 7: 23 Yahusha the Messiah told us that those who are practising lawlessness will be turned away and in Matt 13: 41, 42 He says they will actually be cast into the furnace of fire.
Matt 24: 15, “So when you see the ‘abomination that lays waste’, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, set up in the set-
Yahusha commanded us to keep His Father’s commandments in Matt 19:17, Luke 16:16 and 17, John 12:50 and Rev 22:14.
Yahusha is the Mediator of the New Covenant. He is not the New Covenant itself, He is the Mediator of it. The Renewed Covenant is the same one that was given to Moshe and the children of Yisrael at Sinai, the only difference being that it is now written on our hearts and minds rather than on tablets of stone. Therefore, in that way we do not obey it by striving to do so, but when it is written on our heart it is a necessary part of our very existence as He mediates for us and sees to it that we walk not in lawlessness but in righteousness by His Spirit.
Yahusha said in Matt 24: 12, 13 “And because of the increase in lawlessness, the love of many shall become cold, but he who shall have endured to the end shall be saved”.
This shows that many people will contravene His commandments, resulting in their love for Him becoming cold. Coldness towards our Creator follows hard upon the heels of lawlessness, as disobedience to His Words replaces righteousness and brings about sin and havoc.
In Matt 24: 20 we find that the faithful few will be keeping the Sabbath. The Sabbath is the scriptural sign of being Set-
Shemoth (Exodus) 20: 8 -
Shemoth 31: 16, 17 “And the children shall guard the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as an everlasting covenant. Between me and the children of Yisrael it is a sign forever”.
Wayyiqra (Leviticus) 23 -
The religious establishment teaches that the Feasts of Yahuah were done away with, while they religiously celebrate the pagan feasts such as christmas, easter and halloween each year. It is obvious whose Feasts we must be observing as we worship our Creator who declares the worshipping of strange gods and paganism to be completely unacceptable to Him and will bring down His judgment upon those who practise such lawlessness.
Acts 12: 1 -
Note: In the KJV the ‘Days of Unleavened Bread’ are erroneously translated as ‘Easter’. In those days there was no ‘Easter’ which honours the pagan goddess Ashteroth/Astarte. However you like to say it, it is the same father of lies who always sets himself up against Yahuah Elohim. The Yehudim and the believers in Messiah who were being murdered by Herod would have been celebrating the time of Passover and certainly would not have been keeping ‘easter’ in honour of the goddess. Can you imagine the men and women who walked and talked with Yahusha the Messiah being involved in the worship of a pagan goddess? Shame on you, KJV translators!
We will now look at several prophecies about lawlessness.
The book of Hoshea deals with the prophet speaking to Ephraim, part of the lost ten tribes of Yisrael.
Hoshea (Hosea) 2: 11 “And I shall cause all her rejoicing, her festivals, her new moons, and her sabbaths, even all her appointed times to cease.
12 “And lay waste her vines and her fig trees, of which she has said, ‘These are my rewards that my lovers have given me and I shall make them a forest and the beasts of the field shall eat them’.
13 “And I shall punish her for the days of the Baals to which she burned incense and adorned herself with her rings and jewellery, and went after her lovers, and forgot Me”, delares Yahuah.
Verse 11 is quoted by false teachers to try to prove that Yahuah abolished His festivals, new moons, sabbaths and appointed times. When we read on to Verse 12 it is abundantly clear that Yahuah is referring to the idolatrous worship of the Baals, false gods, mentioned in Verse 13. It was the pagan feasts, sabbaths etc which had been set up as an alternative form of worship to the true worship of Yahuah Elohim which he was causing to cease and punishing them for their idolatry. This is still happening today when people refuse to celebrate the appointed Feasts of Yahuah and replace them with feast days such as christmas, easter and halloween which have their origins in the pagan worship of the sun god, Sol Invictus Mithra. Also the changing of the Sabbath (seventh day rest) of Yahuah to Sunday was a deliberate act of disobedience to the Creator. (Please see our Article “My Sabbaths or Your Sabbaths” for more information)
Please read Bemidbar (Numbers) 25 for a graphic account of idolatrous paganism in action and the terrible consequences of such behaviour.
Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 24: 3 -
In the following verses Yirmeyahu is speaking to false prophets -
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 23: 18 -
21, 22 “I did not send these prophets, yet they ran. I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. But if they had stood in My counsel then they would have let My people hear My Words, and they would have turned them from their evil way and from the evil of their deeds”.
Verse 33 “And when these people or the prophet or the priest ask you saying, ‘What is the message of Yahuah’? then you shall say to them, ‘What message’? I shall forsake you,” declares Yahuah.
Verse 36 “But the message of Yahuah you no longer remember! For every man’s message is his own word, for you have changed the Words of the Living Elohim Yahuah of Hosts, our Elohim”!
Verse 38 -
Note: Whenever the words “the message of Yahuah” occurs in the KJV it is translated as “the burden of the Lord” which masks the true meaning of the Words. We all know the clear joyful meaning of the words “the message of Yahuah”, but “the burden of the Lord” conveys a different meaning altogether and suggests a wearisome task to be carried out.
We have to be always aware that there are false prophets speaking who have not been sent by Yahuah and are speaking their own words, not His words. If a prophet speaks the Words of Yahuah, what he says will come to pass, but if he is speaking his own words, it will not come to pass and the people will not be warned of the consequences of disobedience to their Creator.
Here are a few examples of Yahusha’s teaching on the subject from the Gospels -
Yahusha was asked by a Pharisee in Matt 19: 16 “Good teacher, what good shall I do to have everlasting life?”
17 And He said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except One -
In John 5: 2 Yahusha healed the sick man at the pool of Bethesda and He told him to ‘take up your bed and walk’ and then said “See you have been made well, sin no more”.
In John 8: 3 the scribes and pharisees brought the woman caught in adultery to Yahusha wanting Him to condemn her to be stoned for her sin. None of them was willing to cast the first stone. Yahusha said to her “Neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more”.
Just a thought -
Note: Yahusha was saying to all of these people to live according to the commandments. It says in 1 John 3: 4 “Everyone doing sin does lawlessness, for sin is lawlessness”.
(In KJV it is translated as “the transgression of the law”).
The time has now come for the restoration of the House of Yisrael (Israel), both Yahudah and Ephrayim, comprising the twelve tribes as told in Yehezqel (Ezekiel) chapter 37. In these days many are turning back to the Hebraic truth of the Word of Elohim, both in the Spirit and the Word. We must ask Yahuah to redeem us from the lawlessness that most have traditionally been taught -
Psalm 19: 7 The Torah of Yahuah is perfect, bringing back the being; the witness of Yahuah is trustworthy, making wise the simple,
8 The orders of Yahuah are straight, rejoicing the heart; the command of Yahuah is clear, enlightening the eyes;
9 The fear of Yahuah is clean, standing forever; the right rulings of Yahuah are true, they are righteous altogether,
10 More desirable than gold, than much fine gold; and sweeter than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Also Your servant is warned by them, in guarding them there is great reward.
Please read Psalm 119 which is solely devoted to dealing with the Torah and the importance of obeying the Words of our Creator.
